2014 Reservation/Transaction Fees:

In addition to the park facility use fee, there is a nightly reservation/transaction fee. Internet reservations, the per night fee is $4.56. Call Center, the per night fee is $4.61. Walk-In transactions at the park, the per night fee is $4.51. Reservation/Transaction Fees are Non-Refundable.

Description

Deep Creek Lake State Park, which features Marylands largest man-made lake, offers opportunities to camp, fish, swim and launch your boat in Garrett County. Popular picnic areas offer views of the lake and beach areas. Make sure to visit the parks Discovery Center, which showcases hands-on exhibits for families to learn about Western Marylands wildlife, culture, and historical heritage that have turned this former logging and coal mining region into a popular modern day vacation destination.

PET POLICY

  • Pets allowed in Browning, Beckman and Garrett camp loops.
  • Pets allowed on trails.
  • Pets allowed in boat ramp area to board vessels.
  • Pets allowed in Discovery Center parking area to access trails.
  • Pets allowed to swim from shoreline in all areas except swimming beach, docks or fishing piers.
  • Pets allowed in day-use areas and lake except for sandy portion of swimming beach area.

    ALCOHOL POLICY:

    The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all state park areas with the exception of interior areas of full-service cabins and motorhomes.

    Alcohol permits will only be issued through a reservation for a designated shelter, or other approved facility. A $35 fee will be charged for each alcohol permit and must be obtained 1-day out prior to arrival. Permits may be revoked for cause by Park Manager, their designee or a Natural Resources Police Officer.

    Internet shelter reservations requiring an alcohol permit will need to contact the Call Center at 1-888-432-2267, Mon-Fri, 8 am - 8 pm to make your reservation.
