Amplified Sound Permit
Shelter users interested in having amplified sound at their event must contact the park office during normal business hours (7 AM - 4 PM, Monday - Friday) prior to their event date in order to acquire an amplified sound permit.
Day Use Only:
Shelters are available from 9am until Sunset. Sunset times vary throughout the season. Please research your local listings for the sunset times on the date you plan on reserving the shelter.
Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, and other invasive beetles, the Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources has prohibited the importation of personal firewood into all DNR owned and managed properties. Please do not bring firewood with you when visiting a DNR Property/Park.
VISITOR SERVICE CHARGES:
Maryland tagged vehicles
Weekends and Holidays = $3 per person
Weekdays = $3 per vehicle
Out-of-state tagged vehicles
Weekends and Holidays = $5 per person
Weekdays = $5 per vehicle
Children in car seats are free

All visitors must take their trash home with them when they leave.
Alcohol Permits will only be issued through reservation FOR A DESIGNATED SHELTER, or other approved facility. A $35 fee will be charged for each Alcohol Permit and must be obtained 1-day out prior to arrival. PERMITS MAY BE REVOKED FOR CAUSE BY PARK MANAGER, THEIR DESIGNEE OR A NATURAL RESOURCES POLICE OFFICER.

Individuals interested in purchasing an Alcohol Permit can ONLY make their Shelter reservations over the phone. Contact the Call Center at 1-888-432-2267, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. to make your reservation.
The Shelters are located on the North East River Area of the Park and share a restroom. Shelter 1 has a fireplace and electrical outlets, lights, and Barbecue Pit. Shelter 2 has electrical outlets, lights and a barbecue pit.
$10 per bus, as well as $3 per person for MD Residends and $5 per person for Out-of-State residents.
North East Beach Hours:
Elk Neck State Park's North East Beach area is open from 9am until Sunset.
Anyone over 16 needs a fishing license to fish in the park. A Non-tidal license allows visitors to fish in the pond located behind the park store. A Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing license is required to fish in the Chesapeake Bay and it's Tributary Rivers, such as the Elk and North East Rivers which surround the park peninsula.

The North East Beach area offers unguarded summer water fun. There is a bathhouse with changing rooms, toilet facilities, and cold water showers. The beach area also has numerous picnic tables and a recycled tire playground. All swimming is at your own risk.
