Amplified Sound Permit
Shelter users interested in having amplified sound at their event must contact the park office during normal business hours prior to their event date in order to acquire an amplified sound permit.
NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED
Shelter is not designated for an alcohol permit.

Parking is a short walking distance from the Hilltop Shelter.
There are no picnic tables in the shelter or amphitheater area, only benches.
Hilltop Shelter specific information:
NO RESTROOM FACILITIES AT HILLTOP SHELTER. Bench Seating Only-No Tables.
All visitors must take their trash home with them when they leave.
Interdenominational Church Services are held on Sundays.
Parking in the Shelter Area is NOT PERMITTED.
Area is open from 8am until Sunset.
Please consult the local Sunset listings for the date you plan to reserve the shelter.
Anyone over 16 needs a fishing license to fish in the park. A Non-tidal license allows visitors to fish in the pond located behind the park store. A Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing license is required to fish in the Chesapeake Bay and it's Tributary Rivers, such as the Elk and North East Rivers which surround the park peninsula.

The North East Beach area offers unguarded summer water fun. There is a bathhouse with changing rooms, toilet facilities, and cold water showers. The beach area also has numerous picnic tables and a recycled tire playground. All swimming is at your own risk.

PETS ARE OPTIONAL IN THIS AREA
Excessive barking is not permitted in any park area, especially during campground "quiet hours". Information is available at the Campground Registration building for kennels or boarding facilities located in or around the town of North East.
