B-Loop Restroom Renovation Information:
October 15, 2014 thru April 30, 2015, only A-Loop and C-Loop bathhouses are open. B-Loop bathhouse will be closed for renovation. B-Loop campsites 13 thru 18 closest to bathhouse may be affected by construction.
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE - July 3, 2014
Construction of park improvements to the Ranger Julie Schweikert Nature Center and Park Store remains on schedule with the majority of the project to be completed in time for the Fourth of July weekend. Camper Registration and Concessions are now located in the 'newly renovated' Park Store near the Marina Area. Come and enjoy a relaxing time in the 'new Dining Room'. Bring a book, a tablet or lunch. Snacks, bottled drinks and ice cream novelties are available for sale.
Other areas of the park continue to be under final construction. The Camper Check-In Parking Lot can be used, but still has some final work to be completed. The Trailer Storage Lot is also available for limited use with final construction to the entrance a week or so away. The NEW Marina Fish Cleaning Station and NEW Boat Rental Building are still not complete, sorry. The Pathway to the Park Store/Nature Center from the Camper Check-In Lot has been completed. Boat Rentals are open, just check in at the Park Store.

The unguarded beaches of Janes Island offer visitors the opportunity to swim in the waters of the Chesapeake, but only at their own risk. Swimming is only allowed on Tangier Sound Side Beaches of the Island and area is accessible only by boat. Must provide your own boat; or kayak/canoe rentals are available at the Park during peak season. No swimming from the mainland park shoreline.

Each campsite is equipped with a fire ring/grill, picnic table and lantern post.
The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all state park areas with the exception of interior areas of full-service cabins and motorhomes.

GOLDEN AGE PASS:
Persons 62 years of age and older with MD Park Service Golden Age Pass are entitled to discounted camping Sunday-Thursday, excluding Holidays. Display of Golden Age Pass will be required upon check-in. Golden Age Pass holder must be the occupant on the site. Additional service charges will be applied if unable to provide proof of valid pass. Golden Age Pass requires a $10 fee. Sites 94,96,98,100,102 within C-Loop are available for Youth Groups. Youth Group Pass will be honored. Contact the park office at 410-968-1565 for reservation.

Generators are permitted, but all aspects of their use & operation must conform to the established quiet hours & all applicable safeguards designed to prevent disturbing other visitors and to preserve the peace & tranquility of the park environment.
Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, the Maryland Department Natural Resources has prohibited the importation of personal firewood into all DNR owned and managed properties. Please do not bring firewood with you from home when visiting a DNR property.
Insects may be a nuisance at certain times of the year. Gnats, biting flies, mosquitoes, and ticks may be a problem during the spring, summer and fall. The park is located in a forest environment which could result in a problem with wood roaches, crickets, and mice.

All trash must be packed out of your site. Reduce/Reuse/Recycle. Dumpsters are available in the campground for camper's trash.
Quiet time will be maintained in the campground from10:00 pm to 7:00 am.
There is a two night minimum weekend stay (Friday/Saturday) and a three night minimum holiday weekend stay (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
