CONSTRUCTION UPDATE - July 3, 2014
Construction of park improvements to the Ranger Julie Schweikert Nature Center and Park Store remains on schedule with the majority of the project to be completed in time for the Fourth of July weekend. Camper Registration and Concessions are now located in the 'newly renovated' Park Store near the Marina Area. Come and enjoy a relaxing time in the 'new Dining Room'. Bring a book, a tablet or lunch. Snacks, bottled drinks and ice cream novelties are available for sale.
Other areas of the park continue to be under final construction. The Camper Check-In Parking Lot can be used, but still has some final work to be completed. The Trailer Storage Lot is also available for limited use with final construction to the entrance a week or so away. The NEW Marina Fish Cleaning Station and NEW Boat Rental Building are still not complete, sorry. The Pathway to the Park Store/Nature Center from the Camper Check-In Lot has been completed. Boat Rentals are open, just check in at the Park Store.

The unguarded beaches of Janes Island offer visitors the opportunity to swim in the waters of the Chesapeake, but only at their own risk. Swimming is only allowed on Tangier Sound Side Beaches of the Island and area is accessible only by boat. Must provide your own boat; or kayak/canoe rentals are available at the Park during peak season. No swimming from the mainland park shoreline.
12:00 Noon Customers will be charged an additional night service charge if the customer is not checked-out on time. Due to recent problems involving unnecessary damages to cabins and excessive cleaning needs, customers will be charged $25-$100 should unnecessary damage be found at check-out or the facility requires excessive cleaning.
PETS NOT ALLOWED IN CABIN OR IN CABIN AREA OF PARK.
The consumption or possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage will be prohibited in all state park areas with the exception of interior areas of full-service cabins and motorhomes.

March 28, 2014 thru April 24, 2014, only A-Loop and C-Loop bath houses are open.
GOLDEN AGE PASS:
Persons 62 years of age and older with MD Park Service Golden Age Pass are entitled to discounted camping Sunday-Thursday, excluding Holidays. Display of Golden Age Pass will be required upon check-in. Golden Age Pass holder must be the occupant on the site. Additional service charges will be applied if unable to provide proof of valid pass. Golden Age Pass requires a $10 fee. Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, the Maryland Department Natural Resources has prohibited the importation of personal firewood into all DNR owned and managed properties. Please do not bring firewood with you from home when visiting a DNR property.
Insects may be a nuisance at certain times of the year. Gnats, biting flies, mosquitoes, and ticks may be a problem during the spring, summer and fall. The park is located in a forest environment which could result in a problem with wood roaches, crickets, and mice.

Vehicles cannot drive up to the cabins, they must park in designated parking areas and walk approximately 150 ft. to cabins.
Each cabin is equipped with a ceiling fan, a small heating unit, window air-conditioner, an overhead light, electrical outlets, and indoor table and chairs, a porch, picnic table and a fire ring/grill. Linens, blankets & pillows are NOT provided.
All trash must be packed out of your site. Reduce/Reuse/Recycle. Dumpsters are available in the campground for camper's trash.
Quiet time will be maintained in the campground from10:00 pm to 7:00 am.
There is a two night minimum weekend stay (Friday/Saturday) and a three night minimum holiday weekend stay (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
Prices are subject to change without notice and reservation fees, as well as cancellation fees are non-refundable.
Tents are not permitted on mini cabin sites.
