July 6,7 and October 12,13, 2013, a Triathlon will be held at Smallwood State Park. This is an all day event in the park and launching of boats will not be permitted on these dates due to the Triathlon.
SPECIFIC YOUTH GROUP CAMPING INFORMATION:
A valid Maryland DNR Youth Group Pass is required to reserve a designated youth group camping area. Nightly service charges apply.
A youth group must be sponsored by a recognized organization and the youth must be under the age of 18.
Adult leaders must accompany the group at a ratio of 1 adult to not more than 10 youths. Members of the leaders family or other non-members of the registered group are not permitted to camp in the youth group camping area without advance permission from the park.
Camping is primitive. Restrooms and potable water are approximately 300 yards away; showers are not available.
Camping is restricted to tents only and must be set up in the designated areas. Wheeled units and vehicles are not permitted on the site.
Arrival and Set Up: The security gate closes at Sunset. All campers are advised to arrive prior to Sunset. Registration and/or set up is not permitted during quiet hours. The gate combination will be provided after the reservation had been made. Internet reservations, please call the Call Center at 1-888-32-2267 to receive the gate combination
Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am.
Camp fires are permitted only in the fire ring provided. DO NOT leave fires unattended.
Parking: Each site has parking for two vehicles. Any additional vehicles must park in the nearby playground parking lot.
Generators are NOT permitted.
Amplified music is NOT permitted.
Camping permits may be cancelled and any person or group may be required to leave the park for violation of park rules and regulations.

ALCOHOL:
Alcohol is NOT permitted within the Youth Group Camping area.
NO PETS:
Pets are not permitted in youth group camping area.
SWIMMING:
Swimming is NOT permitted at Smallwood State Park.
TRASH FREE:
Maryland State Parks are 'Trash Free'. All trash generated by a group must be taken out by the group. Please bring sufficient large trash bags to accommodate the groups trash.

PRICING:
Prices are subject to change without notice and reservation fees, as well as cancellation fees are non-refundable.
MINIMUM STAY:
There is a two night minimum weekend stay (Friday/Saturday) and a three night minimum stay on holiday weekends (Friday/Saturday/Sunday), Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.
FIREWOOD RESTRICTION:
Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources has prohibited the importation of personal firewood into all DNR owned and managed properties. Please do not bring firewood with you from home when visiting a DNR property.
